Mandala symbolism

Soul Mandalas is a purely intuitive process where you make your own unique creation within a circle, filled with colors and patterns. The mandalas you draw become a symbol of unlimited potential, an icon of your journey towards wholeness. The colors you use speak to your emotions and the patterns echo the world around you.

The mandalas you create will invite you to pause and to recognize the sacred in the everyday.

Mandala symbolism offers us more than beautiful patterns. It provides a visual language for understanding ourselves and our place in the universe.

Each color you use resonates with specific emotional and energetic qualities. While interpretations may vary slightly across cultures, certain associations remain fairly consistent:

Red – Represents vital life force, passion, and grounding energy. Red activates motivation and courage when feeling stagnant or fearful.

Orange – Connected to creativity, joy, and sensuality. Orange brings warmth and enthusiasm, making it helpful during times when inspiration seems distant.

Yellow – Symbolizes mental clarity, wisdom, and personal power. Yellow supports to make decisions, and helps building confidence.

Green – Associated with heart energy, balance, and growth. Green nurtures emotional healing and help us feel connected to nature’s restorative power.

Blue – Represents calm, communication, and truth. Blue facilitates peaceful expression and helps quiet an overactive mind.

Purple – Connected to spiritual awareness and intuition. Purple supports meditation and accessing to deeper wisdom.

White – Symbolizes purity, clarity, and new beginnings. White creates space and openness in mandala designs.

Black – Represents mystery, protection, and the unknown. Black in mandalas often defines boundaries and creates contrast that helps other elements stand out.

Each element that we use within mandalas resonates with our inner selves.

Hereby are some of the most common symbols with their interpretation.

Circle - The circle is seen as a symbol of eternity, with no beginning or end. It invites us to seek balance. It encourages a sense of belonging within the universe.

Spiral - The spiral represents growth, evolution and progress. We might revisit certain challenges throughout our lives but each return offers an opportunity for deeper understanding.

Square - Squares embodie stability and structure. They can signify exploring feelings related to personal boundaries.

Triangle - The triangle represents energy and the balance between different forces.

Upward facing triangles represent masculine energy, action, often linked to the element of fire, signifying transformation and empowerment.

Downward facing triangles are associated with feminin energy, with intuition and emotional depth. They also represent grounding energy that connects us with the earth.
